Lahore police nab man wanted for murder after shootout

LAHORE: Shahdra police have claimed nabbing a proclaimed offender after an encounter here on late Saturday night, Geo News reported,
The police say Qazi Afzal, wanted for multiple counts of murder, who they have been hunting for quite a while, was cornered in Sabzazar Colony.

According to police, Afzal, in order to make his escape, let loose a flurry of shots from his automatic weapon at the cops who were closing in on him, forcing them to fire back.
"The accused, however, surrendered after a half-an-hour long gunfight as he was left with no more ammo to shoot, but not before injuring a police," a police official said.
The wounded cop was rushed to Services Hospital, while Afzal was moved to an unknown location for further interrogation.
