Straight from Cairo’s Fashion Scene: Deana Shaaban

Cairo's fashion scene witnesses an evolution with plenty of designers on the rise, Deane Shaaban is our favorite so far. Deana Shaaban was born June 7, 1985 in Bayonne, New Jersey. She received her Bachelors degree from the American University in Cairo in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Psychology.

She then went on to get two certificates in Fashion Design from Istituto di Moda Burgo and in Patternmaking from Institute Technique de la Mode. At which point she went to London for a one year intensive diploma course in Fashion design at Istituto Marangoni.

The Deana Shaaban label was launched in March 2010. Currently based in Cairo, Egypt, the brand's Ready-to-Wear collection are debuted twice a year, with an Evening and Jewelry collection that launch annually. Deana Shaaban also offers the designing of bespoke evening and wedding gowns on a per order basis. Deana Shaaban's designs are each unique and un- repeated because the brand was founded on the belief that not every gown suits every woman, but that every woman is unique in her own right and the gown that adorns her should be true to that belief.

Her belief is that when a woman is draped in a dress, the focus should not be on the dress, but rather on the woman and together, both gown and woman, create a harmonious masterpiece. The fabrics in each design are selectively hand-picked from the finest material of various countries. Each design is an exquisite combination of a thoughtful drape, flattering fit and the complementing plethora of fine fabric forming masterpiece of one self in the most elegant of forms.
