Highlights and Analysis From Apple’s Event

Apple announced significantly upgraded versions of its tablets at an event on Tuesday, including an iPad Air, a faster and thinner tablet, and a new Mini that comes with a higher resolution display.

The company also presented more details on Mavericks, the latest Mac operating system, which it first introduced last June, and several updates to its other software.

Tim Cook is back and he’s standing in front of a giant image that says “iPad, Designed by Apple in California.”

And the event is over. No big surprises from Apple. No iWatch. No iPad keyboard. We’ll have to wait to see whether the company has done enough to please consumers and investors as it goes into the holiday season.
