The US born winner managed to take home the crown despite the controversy around the pageant from Islamic extremists and worries that the event might be disrupted by protests.
Megan was born in the USA in 1990 and moved to the Philippines at the age of 10. She studied digital film and started her career as a local actress appearing in TV shows/ films and hosting a show there.
The event took place in Nusa Dua, southern Bali,a Hindu resort island after being moved from a venue outside Jakarta due to heavy protests occurring against the event from radical Islam Defenders Front, calling the event "pornography".
