1. He answers a question with a question
Infuriating yes, but this does not necessarily mean he does not have a mind of his own. He merely wants to make sure he is giving you the answers you want to hear. Or perhaps he is just avoiding the inevitable confrontation he is faced with when we don’t get the answer we would like to hear!
2. He considers his responses
A long pause between your question and his answer can be irritating for you, but it shows that he is a thoughtful soul. Always happy to please, he would rather think carefully about his answers than say the first thing that comes into his mind. This characteristic shows that he is likely to be methodical in his thought processes and is an individual who likes to take his time to figure out a solution to a problem. He cannot be hurried but usually finds the right answers.

3. Your mum adores him
Sunday lunch will float on a sea of calm if your mum likes your boyfriend. We’re not talking purely entertaining his football conversations and politely nodding in the right places, but when you can tell that she genuinely enjoys spending time with you as a couple. If he is a real keeper then he goes out of his way to help your parents out when he can.
4. He has friends that you like
It’s a cliché to say that we often don’t like our partner’s friends, but more often than not, it is true. However if his friends are anything like him then they are worth making the effort for. How to tell the good guys? They ask questions about your interests and career, they invite you out even if he is not available and they value their friendship with your man in the same way he values theirs.
5. He asks your opinion
From career advice to clothes he values your opinion. He respects your comments and may not always act on them but certainly takes them on board. If he often disregards your feelings or views on a topic then this is not a balanced relationship. Sometimes this is hard to see when we are involved with a long-term love. The situation becomes watered down and we accept situations at face value. Be sure that you are having your say when it comes to life decisions – either big or small.
