Champions League: Preview on Today’s Matches!

There is no question that last night was a big night in the champions league, but there is no doubt that today we will see lots of great matches. Here is a quick recap on where the teams stand.
Chelsea:

The Blues are unpredictable; they won this competition in 2012, yet they failed to go further than the group stage last season. But with their special one being back, José Mourinho, hopes were really high; he helped them win the premier league and reached two champions league semi-finals. Nonetheless, he did reach the semifinals three consecutive times with the spanish champions, Real Madrid. So, this is his chance to win the champions league.
However,It is still a bit questionable whether Chelsea are strong enough to challenge for the title because of their unexpected, disappointing defeat to Everton on Saturday, But still, not to underestimate them, Mourinho delivered the trophy at FC Porto and Inter Milan and will do all he can to win it this time.
Basel:
Basel will be facing Chelsea whom they lost 5-2 on last season’s Europa League. Their hopes are to pick themselves up and prove themselves. Most importantly, our eyes will be on the promising young talented Egyptian winger,Mohamed Salah who scored against Chelsea in last season’s Europa League.
Arsenal:
The Gunners biggest gamble was signing their most expensive ever player, Mesut Ozil, for £42.4m. Ozil will be doing his best to prove to everyone and himself that he did the right choice by playing for Arsenal instead of sitting on Real Madrid’s bench.
Napoli:
Interesting changes were made here. Firstly, They lost the team’s key player,Edinson Cavani, to PSG. However, they did a smart move by signing their new coach Rafael Benitez  who won this competition back in 2005 with Liverpool FC. Also, a remarkable change is the new players who got signed this summer. Gonzalo Higuain, Raul Albiol and Jose Maria Callejon all three joined the team from Real Madrid. Hopefully, they will prove that they were worth the risk.
Borussia Dortmund:
last season's beaten finalists Borussia Dortmund will do their best to win the title since they have only won it once back in 1997. Sadly, they have lost one of their most important players Mario Gotze for the fellow German rival Bayern Munich. However, Dortmund gained revenge against Bayern Munich in July when they won (4:2) in the German Super Cup. Their match with Napoli will definitely be an intense one.
Atlético Madrid:
After winning Copa del Rey from their city rivals Real Madrid and becoming third-place in La Liga last season behind Barcelona and Real Madrid, it seems like they will be leaving a statement today. Although they have lost their key player Radamel Falcao to Monaco this summer, their latest recruitment of David Villa from Barcelona seems very smart especially under the philosophy of their master coach Diego Simeone
AC Milan:
With a long list of absentees, lots of questions are being posed. Stephan El-Shaarawy along with defenders Ignazio Abate and Mattia De Sciglio, and sadly injured kaka won’t be playing today. On the other side, this will also be the first season for heir manager Massimiliano Allegri to play the champions league with Milan.Hopefully, his experience winning the league title in 2011 will help him.
Barcelona:
Barcelona have reached the semi-finals in seven during the last eight seasons and will be expected to continue their success in this years competition under new-coach Gerardo Martino. Also, they signed their next big thing Neymar whom Legendary Pele even thinks that he might be better than Messi. Barca fans are waiting for the super duo.
