The 'Let There Be Love' singer - who has been dating production assistant Matthew Rutler for nearly three years - admitted she is a workaholic and seeking pleasure in the bedroom is the only way she can relax.
Speaking during an appearance the 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' on Wednesday (19.09.13) she said: 'The one place I don't need to be in control is in the bedroom. I'm a big micromanager. I'm a stickler for organisation even when I'm in the studio - so I think every woman should just relax and allow herself to be pleased in the bedroom. It's the one place I can let go, 'You do the work.' '
The star - who showed off a new slender figure in the September issue of Maxim magazine - explained how her sexy photo shoot was an attempt to embrace her sexuality, which 'comes naturally.'
She added: 'You know, I'm an artist and I'm expressing myself in a sexual way no matter how that changes throughout the years - It's always been something that comes naturally to me.But at this point in my life, I'm 32, and I feel sexier than ever because you know what you want.'
'It was about appreciating the woman that I've become and being effortlessly sexy - not trying too hard.'
Meanwhile, the singer also opened up about her five-year-old son, Max, who she has with ex-husband Jordan Bratman.
She said: 'I bought a new house and he's going to a new school, so it's a lot for the little guy, but he's great. He's the joy of my life.'
