The recipe i’m about to give you exists somewhere but i donno when or
where i tried this tart . All i know is that whenever i see tomatos and
basil i can almost taste and smell this yummy tart but i cant recall
where i had it before . i’m sure it was once in one of my previous lives
:) )
so let me share this easy recipe which i am sure you will love !
Ingredients:
you need 2 whole heads of garlic , cut two square sheets of foil paper and put them on a baking sheet . put each garlic head on one of the squares and drizzle olive oil on the garlic to cover it . close the foil on each one and roast them in a hot oven on 180c
Directions:
you need to have a ready made puff pastry packet (which you find in all supermarkets) . flour your kitchen bar and spread the puff pastry roughly into a circle a bit bigger than your baking pan (preferably use the round tart pans with removable bottom ). now fold the pastry on your rolling pin and move it to the tart pan and unfold it slowly from one side to the other . press lightly on it giving space from the sides so it doesn’t break . press with your fingers on the edges to cut any excess pastry .
now, prick the pastry with a fork a few times .
On the side slice your tomatos (around 6 medium tomatos) and season them with salt and paper. leave them on kitchen paper to get rid of their water.
Get the roasted garlic (which by now is smelling fantastic) out of the oven and let it cool for a bit then take one head of garlic and squeeze it on top of the pastry to get all the garlic paste out , repeat with the other one . now spread the paste all over the pastry .
Arrange the tomatos nicely on top of the garlic and add a few basil leafs to it then drizzle a few drops of olive oil on top .
Stick the pan in the oven for 45 minutes (180c) and serve warm .
Enjoy the tart!!
